When it's needed

Every structural change
is a risk that needs managing.

Migrations don't lose traffic by themselves: it's how they're carried out without a plan that does.

Domain change

Rebranding, mergers, or acquisitions: we transfer the authority built up onto the new domain with a one-to-one mapping and constant monitoring during the critical weeks.

Platform or CMS change

Moving to a new CMS changes URL structure, markup, and performance. We step in before launch, when fixing things still costs little.

Pre-migration analysisStaging validationContent parity

Redesign and restyling

A new site can wipe out signals that were working: we protect what's already ranking well.

URL restructuring

New categories or hierarchies require precise mapping so authority isn't lost.

Switch to HTTPS

Migration to the secure protocol with no mixed content and no redirect chains.

Post-migration monitoring

The first weeks after launch are the most delicate: we monitor indexing, errors, and rankings every day and act immediately on any anomaly.

The method

Four phases,
no improvisation.

A well-executed migration produces a minimal, temporary dip that recovers within a few weeks. An improvised migration can cost months of traffic and rankings that are hard to win back.

The difference almost always comes down to the work done before launch: complete mapping, staging validation, and a day-by-day monitoring plan.

How we work

How we work,
before, during, and after.

Four phases, a proven method. Select each step to discover what happens.

Phase 01

Initial snapshot

We record the starting state: every URL, every ranking, every backlink. This is the baseline we'll measure everything else against.

  • Complete pre-migration crawl
  • Ranking snapshot
  • Backlink inventory
Phase 02

Mapping

We build a one-to-one match between old and new URLs, with no chains, no loops, and no forgotten pages.

  • 301 redirect map
  • Full coverage check
  • Removed URL handling
Phase 03

Validation

We test everything in staging: redirects, markup, content, performance. Launch happens only once every check is green.

  • Staging redirect tests
  • Content comparison
  • Pre-launch checklist
Phase 04

Monitoring

In the following weeks, we monitor every day and immediately fix any anomaly, with constant reporting.

  • Daily monitoring
  • Immediate fixes
  • Stabilization report
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions
about SEO migration.

Will I lose traffic after the migration?
A temporary dip in the first few weeks is normal, because Google needs to recrawl and reassign signals. With a well-planned migration, we're talking about a contained drop that recovers within three to six weeks. Without planning, the losses can be severe and long-lasting.
When should I involve you in the project?
As early as possible, ideally during the analysis phase and not once development is finished. Many choices that impact SEO, like URL structure or the rendering system, are costly to change later. An hour of discussion at the start avoids weeks of rework.
How long does a migration take?
The SEO part typically takes two to six weeks before launch, depending on the number of URLs, plus four to eight weeks of follow-up monitoring. Overall timing obviously also depends on the development of the new site.
What happens if something goes wrong?
That's what the monitoring phase is for. We monitor indexing, errors, and rankings daily and respond within hours to any anomaly. Having the pre-migration snapshot also lets us immediately understand what changed and where.
Do I need to keep the old domain?
Yes, and for a long time: at least a year, ideally two or more. The 301 redirects need to stay active until search engines and the sites linking to you have fully picked up the change. Turning them off too soon means throwing away the transferred authority.
Do you also migrate eCommerce sites with many products?
Yes, and these are the cases where mapping matters most. With large catalogs, we work with automated redirect rules and manual checks on high-traffic pages, where a single mistake can cost a lot of revenue.
